Description
Experienced house and pet sitter/s required for 40 acre property nestled in a private valley, with stunning mountain backdrops. Completely off-grid with no power lines running to our property, we pride ourselves in being able to live this way and never having power outages when the weather gets bad. There are lovely walking tracks throughout the property, if that is your thing. Only 5 minutes to the nearest service station and Bar/Bistro at Jerry’s Plains. 20 minutes to Denman where you’ll find restaurants, bakery, cafe’s as well as an IGA & Liquor for all your grocery needs. The ocean is only 1.5hrs drive away, so you can easily go and have a day out for fresh fish and chips. This area boasts Two Rivers winery and Hollydene Estate, and a bit further away you’ll find many more outstanding winyards and first class restaurants. We have the best of both worlds, living in the ‘bush’, and not far from the ocean.
Our home is a clean and tidy house with streaming services such as Netflix and Stan. WiFi internet with unlimited data use available. The living area has a lovely fireplace. Ample chopped wood will be available for you. The house has hard wired smoke alarms.
We have a double room as well as a twin room for guests, plus use of the main bathroom. The kitchen has several gadgets for use such as air-fryer, mix-master with large glass blender, toastie maker, waffle maker, microwave oven etc. The master bedroom with ensuite will not be available for use.
We have 4 tame chooks, laying eggs for breakfast or baking requirements. Their water containers only needs refilling twice a week, and their food container only needs topping up once a week. They are true free range chooks, and put themselves to bed when it gets dark. We also have 1 Galah parrot we’ve had for 23 years. She stays in her cage and her water and food needs topping up as needed.
We have 3 little indoor moodles who love attention and being close to you. They are spoilt, just a little. 🙂 Outside is 1 Maremma dog who takes his time warming to faces he does not know. For this reason, we invite the chosen house sitter/s to come and stay for two full days whilst we are still here (we’ll feed you well before we leave) so the Maremma can get acquainted with you. We will depart the farm on your third day here, and you’ll have the place to yourself to enjoy.
There are some plants that would need watering, depending on the rain situation at the time. And if the veggie garden is doing well at the time, you may help yourself to whatever is growing at the time. Nothing else to do other than mind our home and fur family, and enjoy your stay.
This is a no payment sit. You receive free accommodation in a lovely peaceful spot, and we have the peace of mind knowing that we can enjoy our little holiday away, which will be our first proper getaway in 17 years, no joke!
